Covenant House Texas Announces their Annual Spring Gala on March 23, 2019

(Houston, TX – February 26) The Covenant House Texas (CHT) Annual Gala will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019, beginning at 6:30 pm at the Hilton Americas – Houston. The theme of this year’s gala is, “Majestic Passage: Journey to a Better Life.” The festive evening begins with a cocktail reception and a highly-sought big board auction followed by dinner and dancing. Covenant House Texas, a shelter for homeless and at-risk youth located in the heart of Montrose, annually serves over 3,000 young people 18-24 years offering food, shelter, job training, counseling and medical care. The mission is simple yet challenging: to move youth from homelessness to independence.

John and Lisa Sarvadi will receive the Spirit Award and Texas Capital Bank will be recognized as this year’s Community Partner. Their unwavering support and dedication to CHT youth, has made a huge impact in countless lives. The evening will be emceed by Miranda Sevcik and David Paul from KHOU 11 News. Together, they will showcase the impact CHT has on homeless youth throughout Houston.

The Covenant House Texas Guild, a group of dedicated volunteers, organizes the event each year. This year’s planning is spearheaded by Gala Chair Jo Ann Petersen. As one of CHT’s largest annual fundraisers, the gala has contributed approximately $10 million in support over the last 30 years.
