On April 19, 18 Houston real estate professionals gathered for the 2nd Annual Sleep Out: Real Estate for homeless youth. The evening began with a fun social hour for participants to meet and get to know some of the youth that live at Covenant House Texas(CHT). The social hour featured burgers from The Burger Joint, ice cream sandwiches from Smoosh, and live music. After hearing testimonials from current CHT youth, the “sleepers” participated in outreach to try to find homeless youth and get them to come to CHT. The group was so moved by outreach, they debriefed for two hours.
The event raised over $25,000 for CHT. The “sleepers” left with more understanding of what homeless youth go through.
